## running  
### database requirements  
set up a database server with postgresql.
this is currently the only supported database backend.
  
## building  
### required tools  
   
 - java 21+ sdk  
 - git  
 - maven  
  
### build steps  
the build process currently happens with maven.
specific build and release steps have not been specified yet.
